“Appreciate that we were able to handle pretty much everything over the phone. Things are hard enough as it is and everyone was very compassionate. MAHALO”
Subject: Thank you
Hello, Penny: ... just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your professionalism and compassion - that helped us through a difficult situation a little more easily. The little "woven" box that the cremains were shipped in was beautiful - reminding us of the paradise where Sandy left us. Carol Wojtecki

Aloha, Penny, Hansi wanted to thank you for
ALL you have done to make this as bearable as possible. You are an "angel"
in disguise, one of God's ministering saints! The obit is approved as you have
made it. Blessings to you!
Hi Penny – Mom got home this morning and I cannot tell you what a relief that was. I really appreciate your help and understanding during this painful time in my life and I wish I were there to give you a hug. The nice wrap that you put on the shipping urn was a great touch. You seem to be a genuinely nice person and I wish you all the best in your life. Thank you for being there for me and my family.
A Hui Hou, Penny and family: Our appreciation for the services you provided for Our Beautiful Leia, our family and friends is beyond words. Your kindness and the time you spent with us gave us comfort in a heartbreaking situation.
God Bless and Aloha from the Family of Leia Morales

Aloha Penny, I just wanted to thank you for doing such an amazing job with my mom’s service. From the moment you came to Lifecare to her burial, you were so wonderful. The custom blanket is one of the most precious gifts I have ever gotten. Thank you for treating her and my family with such warmth and compassion.

Hi Connie, as mentioned over the phone, enclosed please find my donation of $100 to A Hui Hou Ministries. I make this donation for my sister, Nga Angie Prieto, who just passed away in Kailua Kona on February 20, 2013. As your suggestion, I just went online and read A Hui Hou’s webpage. I’m very impressed with the God works that you and A Hui Hou have done for Kona community: taking care of the deceased and helping their family members. May God bless you, your family and staff of A Hui Hou. Best Regards,

Hello Ms. Penny: About a year or more ago my daughter Yvonne Quindica got in touch with you trying to locate her great grandmother’s grave. I thought you were so gracious and I told Yvonne we should send Penny and her business a little bit of a donation for her being so nice. I’m a little late, but my donation is enclosed with this letter. “Mahalo Nui Loa” for your kindness. Aloha

Hi Penny and Connie: This is SPC Raypole. I am writing you to tell you that we did receive the packages with the stockings and were overwhelmed with what was inside. Thank Yall very much. I didn’t expect that many but I have passed them out to almost every soldier in my platoon except for the ones on R&R and on mission. I was on R&R myself and have been traveling back since the 23 of December so when I got back today there were 14 boxes in the office waiting on me and I started passing out the stockings right away. Sorry I didn’t let you know sooner that they arrived. Everyone was very surprised most of them didn’t receive anything for Christmas so it was nice to see smiles on their faces. I wanted to say Thank You very much from the whole SSA Platoon 27th BSB 1st Calvary Division. These have been the best packages I have seen since being in the army including my last deployment. Everything is very much appreciated!!!!!! Hope Yall had a Great Christmas and hope yall have a Happy New Year!!!

I just wanted to thank you for doing such a great job in taking care of my brother Dennis Reynolds and for helping my parents as well. I was very impressed with the respect you showed us all and taking the time to talk us through everything. I have never had to endure something like this but I am glad you made it as easy as it could be for us. I also wanted to thank you very much for taking over when the other funeral on Oahu was not being helpful. It really made a huge difference to be able to have my brother at his own funeral as well as our visiting family member's ability to attend the ocean farewell ceremony that following Monday. You really did make a difference. Mahalo,

Dear Penny and Connie: I received your card in the mail today, and wanted to thank you both so much. Last year around this time, my Dad’s dear friend Tina Mohr said something to me that I will never forget. She told me that as time passed by, the people who truly cared and understood how I felt would be the ones who would remember to check up on me. She couldn’t have been more right, and you two have further proved that point. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude for all that you have done for me and my family. Like I said before, it’s people like you who help make this a bit easier to deal with. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness, and you’ve touched me in a way that I can’t begin to express. Please know that my Dad is looking down on you guys, and I know he is thankful that you put a smile on my face. That one year mark was a tough one for me, and as I’m still trying to process and deal with everything your card came at the perfect time. Take care, and God Bless, Sincerely,

Dear Penny and Connie: Thank you so much for your recent card. As you know, Nov. 26 marks the one year anniversary of my mother’s death, her husband, Ambrose, is having a difficult time with “his journey” but I understand he just took down many of my mothers’ photos, really a big step for him. Your card brought back the memories but that’s probably a good thing. What I remember most is how supportive, kind, caring and in control you were. We certainly needed your help and you were always there to give it. Thank you again for helping us start our “journey”. Most sincerely and with gratitude,

Dear Penny: Our families cannot thank you and your staff enough for your assistance with “Pop’s” funeral arrangements. The loss of Pop although expected, came at a time that no one anticipated or were prepared for. The harsh reality of death, the emotional pain and then the realization that things need to be done quickly came to light. It was extremely important for our families traveling from Oahu, to be able to visit with Pop after his passing. It was equally important that we would be able to have Pop taken care of, that he would be sent to Oahu accompanied by family and that his funeral, church and burial services would be coordinated without any difficulties. It was great that Pop took his last airplane ride on his favorite airline Aloha Airlines. It was you, that made this possible for our family. All of this seemed insurmountable, until the ONE call to A Hui Hou Crematory and Funeral Home of West Hawaii. Our Oahu families were able to travel to Kona to visit with Pop. This was so important to Pop’s grandchildren and great grandchildren who although had missed his passing were able to see him. Your arrival and appearance at our home brought immediate condolences, compassion and understanding not only to the adult family members grieving, but also to Pop’s great grandchildren who were viewing death for the first time in their lives. Their ages, 15 months, 19 months, 24 months, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 15 year olds are important to mention, as they were all able to grieve without fear and to willingly participate in Pop’s services. You did your job with amazing professional yet personal consideration to every family member, no matter how young or how old they were. Every question and request we asked, was addressed responsibly. No detail was left without attention. The time and effort given by you and your entire staff, was the same level of performance, all of the time no matter what time it was or who we were speaking with. It was always 100% plus for our family not only here in Kona but also on Oahu where other family and friends became part of the circle of your care. Your assistance in all aspects of Pop’s funeral arrangements allowed our family to be just that… family. We did not have to worry. We had complete trust in you. The knowledge and skill of you and your staff is commendable. Your honesty remarkable. Your compassion heartfelt to those who require your services. You and your staff have a faith that you not only believe, but that you live and extend to all those families whom you assist in grief. You are genuine. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping our family pay tribute to our “Pop,” Michael P. Amaral. Thank you for guiding us through this walk and being with our family literally every step of the way. Sincerely,
Patricia Montizor, Michael & Maryjane Amaral,
Ethel Botelho, Melanie & Gabriel Ching and family, Chris & Lindsey Montizor and family,
Shireen & Raymond Santiago and family, Michelle & Rick Zamarripa and family, Michael Amaral, Jr.
Hi Penny: I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you and your kindness.
You helped my father with my grandpa’s memorial, and now you’ve
helped me make it through his. Our keepsakes came in the mail today, and they
are so very special. Thanks again for your patience, kindness, and understanding.
Have a very Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring you health and happiness.
